To immortalise the Champagne Ambassador’s Awards, the Champagne Committee (CIVC) called on the sculptor Stéphane Guiran, «blacksmith-poet» who works only with metal.
After founding his own company in Paris, he left the capital to settle in Provence in November 2002. Very quickly, he became well-known in the artistic circles and obtained the 4th Prize for Sculpture in the Florence Biennale the following year.
In creating the Trophy, the artist wished to represent the notion of knowledge transmission from master to pupil, which is the foundation of a trainer’s work. |
This unique sculpture, made of iron and brushed nickel, represents the transmission of knowledge between teacher and pupil.
Two welded elements are holding each other. One holds the other so that he can take his flight. Together they compose a single harmonious element resting on the foundations of knowledge.
“The trainer is an ambassador who transmits the knowledge to the pupil; who will in turn become an ambassador”.
